We have just shipped 36 eRanger ambulances to be placed in emergency health facilities in the 3 districts of Mbale, Uganda ( Mbale, Manafwa and Bududa) and 3 outlying districts of Lowero, Gulu and Tororo.

32 have been donated by UK Rotary Club co-ordinated by Roger Neuberg, 3 by DFiD and 1 by the Ugandan Maternal Health Hub, a consortium of British Health partnerships working on Maternal health in Uganda.

PONT ( Partnerships Overseas Networking Trust) will have ownership of the eRangers which will be on permanent loan to PONT-Mbale-CAP ( Coalition against poverty).

Between December 2010 – November 2013, 7 eRangers made 7,000 emergency runs in Mbale, Manafwa and Bududa. This averages out at 45 emergency call-outs per eRanger per month. The majority of these call-outs were for emergencies arising in pregnancy and labour. Many were life-saving. The effect of more eRangers will be huge with a significant reduction in maternal deaths.
