UNICEF receives $250,000 for an innovative programme to reduce Maternal Mortality

The eRanger Motorbike Ambulances complete with sidecar and padded bed, have been rolled out as part of a pilot project that is intended to cut rates of maternal mortality and offer a lifeline for pregnant women in Sudan. The units will be deployed specifically to remote parts of the country where, according to the United Nations, an expectant mother has a greater chance of dying in childbirth, ”. UNMIS.


With this additional funding this significant and innovative lifesaving tool can continue to contribute to the success of this already proven programme and help reduce maternal mortality in Southern Sudan.
