Southern Ethiopia
This is the first time in Ethiopia that a motorbike ambulances have been introduced, and it has already made a huge difference, enabling the transport of critically ill pregnant mothers and other patients to life-saving healthcare facilities.
This project forms part of a larger long-term programme providing support to healthcare facilities in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People's Region of Ethiopia (SNNPR).

The impact so far:
x6 eRanger Ambulances used by 6 clinics
A total of 1600 patient journeys
Many at night with average distance 20kms
x2 more ambulances delivered November 2010
"All clinics regard the eRanger ambulance as a very special gift and are highly valued by the communities"
